5 Best Mother's Day Afternoon Tea Experiences in Beverley

As a new mummy-to-be, I'm especially excited for this mother's day and understand better than ever before the significance of marking the occasion with my own mum. I can just imagine the day that my little love and I create our own special family traditions to celebrate the occasion.

It's always nice to treat your mum or the special mother figure in your life to something you don't necessarily do all the time and so I think afternoon tea fits the occasion perfectly. I've been lucky enough to try some of the best around the world but sometimes what is on your doorstep is equally as spectacular. Here are my top 5 picks for afternoon tea in Beverley.

Tickton Grange

Tickton Grange has recently undergone a major refurbishment and the beautiful library (pictured above) is the perfect space for a country style afternoon tea with hotel elegance. I've only had afternoon tea here once but it was delicious and I'm keen to try the revamped version. They have a good range of teas and nice gardens to walk off all that food afterwards.

TC Pattiserie

TC Pattiserie are the talk of the town during Beverley's bustling Saturday Market as they sell the most amazing french desserts and pastries, so you can guess that their afternoon tea is much coveted. The cafe isn't huge so it pays to book well ahead and especially now that they have a deal where you can get 27% off tea for two until the end of March.

Lempicka

This place is a special favourite of mine, quite possibly just a smidgen because it does immense hot chocolates and it's next to a place that sells artisan chocolates too. I wrote about it here when I took a little trip to the town's Minster recently. I love the mini homemade Battenburg cakes and I just know you will too.

Vanessa's Delicatessen

Vanessa's Deli has that local farm shop vibe going on which makes it a constant hive of activity and it's right in the centre of Saturday market, perfect for having a scout around all of the lovely shops and spending all those hard earned pennies. The food is all locally sourced, as you'd expect, and is consistently yummy, in my humble opinion. They also do a cracking brunch, if afternoon tea is a bit hifalutin for your tastes.

White Rabbit Chocolate Company

The White Rabbit Chocolatier has a new café and they've started doing their own twist on afternoon tea with a lunch time bruschetta followed by the richest, gooiest, chocolate fondue with all of the trimmings. I'm yet to try this one myself as it's so new but have heard only good things. If the person you're treating this mother's day is a real chocaholic then it doesn't get much more perfect than this!

What are your plans for mother's day? Let me know below if you've experienced a truly amazing afternoon tea somewhere and I'll put it on my list.

  1. We went to TC Patisserie last weekend (and had the afternoon tea, naturally). It was wonderful. The bread was lovely - I noticed the bread when there was cake on offer, that's saying something.
I've made a note of your list. One down. Four to go.
