Top 10 summer travel essentials for mum and baby

I no longer can get away with taking hand luggage and a whim and a prayer when I travel thanks to the littlest Inspiration needing all sorts of paraphernalia. How do humans so small need so much stuff? But I do have certain essentials that I won't travel without and so I thought it'd be fun to unpack my bag and show you what's inside.

Carrying:

I adore my Wolf & Maiden bag that I picked up on my South African travels. It was an investment but I'm as in love with it now as I was when I bought it.

Reading:

I never leave home without my Kindle Paperwhite and can be found steaming through multiple books a day on holiday if allowed to relax. I like a good holiday romance read, with a psychological thriller/ who dunnit thrown in, alongside something for self improvement,

Capturing:

I take my trusty Panasonic Lumix compact with me to capture all of the amazing memories we make on our travels. It has wifi capability so I can instantly access them on my phone to share on social media and make our friends jealous. It takes great landscape shots.

Spending & organising:

Carrying cash is so risky these days but I don't always like using cards and on some trips don't know what the ATM's will be like. I prefer instead to carry a currency exchange card and WeSwap has 18 currencies that they can convert for you. It's a no brainer when you've got little ones as we always have a back up and it gives me peace of mind. They won a best travel money award for 2018 and even have a handy app for your phone. Use my code UNPACK10 to get £10 off when you spend £50.

I like to keep all of my travel documents, cards and passport in my handy Busy B document holder.
Listening to:

I like the sound quality of these Bang and Olufsen limited edition headphones tuned into an eclectic mix of music but these are the headphones I really want. Granted since the littlest Inspiration came along I haven't had much time to discover new music but I like to listen to some old favourites.

Wearing:

My Mint Velvet panama hat, boohoo cut out swimming costume (flattering on a postpartum mum tum) and my Pucci for H&M scarf which doubles as a sarong. My look is finished off by my classic Raybans,

I never travel without my Wild Rose Beauty Balm from Neals Yard (it's a miracle worker that can do everything from rehydrate, to highlighting to taming stray eyebrows and acting as a lip balm)

On holiday I often prefer to wear a nice scented moisturiser rather than perfume, as the heat can make it too intense. My favourite at the moment is Jo Malone Wood & Sage.

I also really like the Soap & Glory skin care miniature range, as they're the perfect travel sized companion.

For the littlest Inspiration:

Of course now Florence Ophelia has her own travel essentials.

Wearing:

This pretty little cornflower blue swimsuit is from Mothercare and the broderie anglaise soft shoes are ideal for learning to take her first steps.

The bunny ear sun hat is from Love Roo, and will protect her fair skin from the sun.

My Hummy goes everywhere with us to block out noise when we need her to take a nap when out and about and I have a blackout snoozeshade to block out the light.

And, of course, our budding travelista has her own 1st passport cover and luggage tag from UK Gift Store.

So that's what we'll be taking to Spain with us on our upcoming trip, as well as a buggy, sling, nappies and the kitchen sink for the little one.

If you want an easy and safe way to transport your currency don't forget to check out WeSwap and get your FREE £10 credit with code UNPACK10.

What are your travel essentials? Especially for babies as we're still novices at packing lightly for our bubs.
