A sac de triomphe: the ultimate take anywhere bag

These beautiful heady days of summer provide so much opportunity to get outdoors and explore and I'd been looking for a Mary Poppin's style practical but stylish bag for a while to take with me when I get in these wanderlust fuelled, adventure seeking frames of mind...
I know you know the kind of thing I mean. Something that suits every occasion and that you can chuck everything including the kitchen sink into.

A bag that looks just as good traveling long haul on some exotic adventure, packed full of passports, tickets and dreams...
As it does as a work bag that makes the commute beyond simples and can fit in a laptop, tablet, notebooks, phones, credit cards and even a pair of comfy shoes for when feet are sore after a long day tramping through the city...
Plus who doesn't instantly look more fashionable with a backpack on? Don't get me wrong, I could have chosen a number of other bags in the Knomo Mayfair Luxe range - their Maddox tote stole my heart, as did the Elektronista clutch, but practicality and style were up there on my ultimate take anywhere bag lust list...
Normally I'd fret that wearing a bag on my back isn't that secure but this nifty little creation has RFID technology in it that stops people cloning your phone and credit cards. You can even get a charging accessory to keep your devices topped up on the move.
I've gotten so much mileage out of this superb backpack already and it was my go to bag of choice on a recent picnic at Burnby Hall Gardens. It was a glorious summer day and perfect July days always scream country picnic to me.
Armed with picnic blanket, flasks of sweet iced tea, cakes, sandwiches and other treats, we marched into the gardens to find a sunny spot...
This fellow looked set to pounce on our feast but his threats were hollow (boom boom!) and we carried on regardless...
Hobbit houses that would make perfect secret dens were scattered across the gardens and I really wanted to go in and make myself at home...
But the enchanting Primrose Woods beckoned us forth, enveloping us in the dark but comforting tall trees...
Until we made it back to the open lily ponds, where enormous fish with gaping mouths tried to reach out to  the promise of bread crumbs tossed generously into the water...
I've never seen so many lily pads of different varieties all in one place and expected to see big fat toads lounging lazily among them but they were obviously feeling shy that day.
Once we'd fed the fish and strolled the grounds thoroughly, we had worked up quite an appetite and set about finding a little nook to set up our afternoon picnic...
In the distance little ones shrieked in amazement as the fish almost swallowed their fingers trying to snatch food and families played a mini round of cricket on the lawn...
Luckily we found just the right spot to people watch and enjoy some peace and tranquillity...
We whipped the blanket out of my backpack and laid out the picnic hamper...
Before hungrily tucking into the goodies within...
Full to the brim, we set off once again to get lost in the secret garden...
Is there anything better than a garden in full bloom during the summer?
After a day adventuring we returned home for a snooze, but my trusty backpack is all lined up for the next big adventure...
Where is your next adventure taking you? Do you have a favourite Mary Poppin's style bag?
