Rand Farm Real Christmas Experience

I can hardly believe we’re in the festive portion of the year already but boy are we excited over here.

Something about the seasonality, traditions, dare I say, the comforting predictability of this time of year, never fails to bring a sense of wonder, joy and occasionally, overwhelm. Yikes!

Finding opportunities to be present and in the moment can be hard to come by but we were lucky to do just that recently when we visited Rand Farm in Lincolnshire for their real Christmas experience.

We were even fortunate to be there when Santa was in town and got to see him - just our family and Santa in his cosy study - which was increasingly unique and a real treat.

Rand Farm is a super day out any time - with a packed day full of rides, play areas, and lots of animals. So we were glad to get there early to make the most of it before we visited Elf Quarters ticket office and made our way through a truly heartwarming and beautiful experience.

This little corner of the internet has always been a family affair - you might have been a reader when I met my now husband and followed us through buying (and renovating) our cottage, getting engaged, and married, followed by welcoming our two beautiful children.

It feels only right that the children now also share their opinions on our days out and experiences. So now I will share with you the Little Inspirations’ opinion of Rand Farm.

“At Rand Farm the Christmas experience is amazing. It’s lots of fun with loads of activities. It’s a perfect Christmassy day out for you and your children. From reindeer feeding to meeting Santa Claus, it has everything.

Personally I liked the token Santa gave us for the toy shop and the reindeer food making but most of all meeting training reindeer. One even managed to get 2 inches off the ground in his flight training!

There is also astonishing play equipment, not just any old swings and slides but 10 x the fun. Now I can’t forget the animals too; goats, pigs, sheep, birds, donkeys, horses and bottle feeding baby calves was amazing. We also got to stroke small animals.

My brother and I loved the dry tobogganing and bouncy pillows, too and we even got taken on a tractor ride.

The shows can get quite busy but if you love Christmas and animals, this is the day out for you and your family.”

So there you have it, I don’t think I could have said it better myself. There were a number of small touches that made the day so much fun i.e. the elves were so engaging and we walked through enchanted tree lined cosy spaces to reach them.

My personal favourite was Santa’s post room, where the children helped sort presents.

I also loved that Santa gave the children tokens to choose their own presents - one got a super soft, big Dino teddy and the other a Make Your Own Unicorn diary - really lovely gifts. Then they got given ‘change’ which was a gold chocolate coin. Sweet.

My other favourite experience was decorating gingerbread with Mrs Claus in her cosy kitchen - it was tasty and felt very wholesome.

But what really made this day magical was Santa - kind, rosy-cheeked and long-bearded - who talked to us for about ten minutes about where we lived, where we’d been on holiday and what the children wanted for Christmas.

We all had a lovely day and the animal activities and play areas were an added bonus. They still have availability in the run up to Christmas so we recommend booking ahead. They have a cafe on site with hot and cold food options, but we took packed lunch.

We did visit the coffee shop which had a great range of cakes and hot drinks. You can also pay to toast marshmallows here.

Have you booked a Christmas Day out yet?
