I love hearing about folk stories and going to events that have their roots in tradition and folklore and/or are quirky and bohemian. The British Isles have some of the most amazing and weird traditions that are celebrated in events and festivals throughout the year...hello Cheese Rolling Championship and Scarecrow Festivals!!
The best examples of folk celebrations I've found are those that happen in villages and rural communities and through my travels I'm also uncovering celebrations that have spiritual roots around the world, such as Holi Festival, which I wrote about here.
From this interest and my work with Festivals, this little Folklore project was born! I'll be featuring awesome bloggers who have visited some of the best events and festivals the world has to offer and I am sooooo ridiculously excited to learn about cool, quirky celebrations and maybe even get to visit a few of them myself in the future.
If you want to know more about the project (and exciting plans for the future), then get in touch and I can send you some more information.
A bohemian storm is brewing folks and I hope you'll join me for the journey!
