Why you need to visit Chatsworth House for all the festive feels

Just like the excitement when the circus used to roll into town as a kid, there is an event that happens every year that just has to be seen to believe the magic.

Chatsworth House’s Christmas event is not done by halves and this year will be no exception, from what I’m led to believe. My favourite year at Chatsworth so far was the Lion Witch and the Wardrobe theme, as it gave me all the festive feels and got me in the mood of everything jingly, shiny and Christmassy.

We ventured through the wardrobe, full of fur coats to reach the magical forest beyond...

Full of furry creatures great and small scurrying around in the still of the night...

There were 50 individually decorated Christmas trees to behold at Chatsworth...ahem, I mean in Narnia....

After winding through the woods we eventually came to Mr Tumnus' cottage where I was beyond excited to have tea with him...

After a refreshing cup of tea we continued on to Beaver's house where they were getting warmed by the fire...

But on our way back we had to run to escape the wild salivating wolves who were out to get us ......

Until we were saved by Santa's sleigh and those plucky little reindeer.....

When we landed again icicles hung menacingly from every surface and signaled that something eerie and scary was nearby...

Then lo and behold, the wicked white queen appeared and cast her magic turning everything around her into an ethereal snowy white world....

Before making her escape in her mean machine....

And taking a lie down in her special sleigh bed....

We sought solace in the warmth and comfort of the many books in the library and thawed out from the White Queen's icy magic in front of the cosy fire....

Until we heard an almighty roar and ran to find our brave friend Aslan lying still on a stone slab...

With the help of Lucy, Susan and Peter, we brought Aslan back to life and vanquished the White Queen. Then we celebrated with a feast to end all feasts.....

We then ventured back to reality to enjoy the most magical looking skies that were the perfect back drop to taking an open sleigh ride pulled by stunning black Shire horses.

Chatsworth House you absolute beauty.....I can't wait to see what this year's festive scenes hold and it's based on one of my favourites - Wind in the Willows!
